Results + Thoughts

I lost and kept off 8 pounds. I lost the most weight when I followed Autumn’s nutrition plan.

These workouts made me feel like an athlete again, in the best way possible.

Warning: Lots of jumping! If you have bad knees or can’t jump, this program may be challenging. There is a modifier that doesn’t jump so you should try that out!

45 Unique Workouts + 45 Unique Workouts from a Modified Program + 45 Unique Night Stretches + Bonus Workouts

Something I absolutely love about this program is that there are 45 different workouts. This means that you are working out in real time with the cast and crew. The jokes and the sayings won’t get old like we are used to with the other Beachbody workouts that aren’t in real time. My favorite part is that the cast and crew go up in weight in real time so you have a good benchmark on where you should be at. You don’t have to keep guessing yourself. Last: Muscle confusion. Your muscles fatigue in new ways every day. Having a different workout every day is the best!

There are 5 different workout types. Tony Horton taught me one of the most important things I know: It is important to have a well-rounded workout strategy. You need strength, flexibility, cardio AND rest. Even the strongest guy in the world needs to be flexible or they could tear something. I love that Autumn planned out the workouts to make me a well-rounded athlete.

Nutrition

Autumn said that if she were to build this program for a client it would be $2,500, it’s that intensive. Crazy, right? In addition to 45 unique workout videos you get meal custom plans. When you take your first measurements and weight, you are put into a "group" for your goal (maintaining weight, losing weight, or gaining weight).  Meals are planned around the goal for that week. You have handy-dandy portion control containers that help you portion out your food.

So you basically have a trainer and a nutritionist. It's amazing.

Sometimes I get lazy and don’t want to do the actual program. These times I use the free app “MyFitnessPal” to make sure I’m staying in my calorie range. Starving yourself isn’t going to help you lose weight. Your body needs good fuel to work, so don’t starve it!

What’s the difference between the traditional 9 Week Control Freak program and Off the Wall?

The traditional program uses a step, a resistance band track, pilates ball and weights. The alternate Off the Wall program is done with weights only. While Beachbody suggests the traditional route with the equipment, you can still see results with the alternate Off the Wall program.

Get the Equipment

You can get the equipment directly from Beachbody or you can build your own package from Amazon. For 9 Week Control Freak you need weights, a step, 9-inch pilates ball, resistance band and resistance band track.

Pros

Toning and Weight Loss - I saw such amazing results with this program. The workouts are planned out in just the right way so you’re always working a new muscle group.

Autumn Calabrese - I love Autumn. She’s super motivating and knows what she’s talking about.

Shorter Workout - You only need 22-38 minutes a day. That’s so awesome! You can change in a short amount of time.

Cons

Equipment - There’s a lot of equipment. BUT I will say that I love working my body out in new ways rather than just using free weights.
