Beachbody MM100 Workout Review

Hello fitness lovers! This review is for Beachbody’s MM100 Workout.

I am currently in my first round of MM100, and am loving it. I have completed 80-Day Obsession three times, P90x3 four times, T25 a few times, Liift4 twice and 21-Day Fix Extreme three times. It’s safe to say that I’ve been around the Beachbody block. ;) Here are my unbiased thoughts about the new program.

Fast Facts:

  • Trainer: Jericho McMatthews — LOVE HER! She is soooooo fun and spunky. I wish we were friends in real life.

Initial Thoughts

I have noticed that I have lost inches and five pounds with this program. As I am writing this, I am on Day 72! Woo hoo!

Some of the moves feel a little silly at first, but like any workout or choreography, you WILL get better. I promise. Jericho is super motivating and does all the moves with you, which is awesome.

Warning: Lots of jumping! If you have bad knees or can’t jump, this program may be challenging. There is a modifier that doesn’t jump so you should try that out!

100 Unique Workouts + 10 workout types

Something I absolutely love about this program is that there are 100 different workouts. This means that you are working out in real time with the cast and crew. The jokes and the sayings won’t get old. Next, the cast and crew goes up in weight in real time so you have a good benchmark on where you should be at. Last, your muscles fatigue in new ways every day. Having a different workout every day is the best!

There are 10 different workout types. Tony Horton taught me one of the most important things I know: It is important to have a well-rounded workout strategy. You need strength, flexibility, cardio AND rest. Even the strongest guy in the world needs to be flexible or they could tear something. The fact that MM100 has all of that built in is awesome. We love well-rounded programs over here!

Nutrition

All you have to do is 1) Weigh yourself + 2) Decide if you want to lose weight or maintain weight. From here, the guide will tell you which meals to eat. Simple as that. I use the free app “MyFitnessPal” to make sure I’m staying in my calorie range.

There isn’t a new container plan that you use for MM100, unless you want to do it in conjunction with Portion Fix, which is one of the options if that’s what you’re doing!

I don’t use Shakeology. I am a millennial on a budget so I choose not to spend the extra money on daily shakes unfortunately. I don’t think it is necessary to have Shakeology to get results, but it may work for you!

I used to use Beachbody’s energize, but found a yummier + cheaper alternatives. Here are a few of my favorite pre-workouts. (The first one tastes like blue Pixie-Stix and is approved by the NSF so it’s a little bit better for you than other pre-workouts.

If you don’t like tingly pre-workouts: the watermelon Amino Energy powder is for you. It is a mixture of glorious nutrients that give you electrolytes + caffeine. I also love the concord grape flavor from this brand, too which is also linked below. You can also drink the Amino Energy powder more than once a day. It’s a great replacement for soda!

Time

I’m obsessed with the shorter workouts because I love layering Beachbody workouts with Peloton or other cardio workouts. MM100 workouts are 22-30 minutes, tops! You are working the whole time with little rest, so these workouts are perfect for busy people, or people that are just starting to phase exercise into their lives.

Materials You Need for MM100:

You only need weights (light, medium and heavy) and a mat for MM100. If you choose to do Portion Fix with the workout, I’ve linked a cheap alternative for those below.

Adjustable Weights, $64 - For the weights, the highest I go is 22.5 so if you get a set of 12-pound dumbbells, you can combine those.

Yoga Mat, $12 - This premium mat is only $12 on Amazon + comes with a sling!

Portion Control Containers, $7.99 - You can’t buy the Beachbody portion containers by themselves. You have to purchase a program. LAME!
