10 Best Foods at Disneyland

People always ask me why I love Disneyland so much as an adult. My number one reason is the food. Calfornia is a “foodie” place, so Disneyland has to keep up that image. Say goodbye to greasy theme park food (minus the corndog), say hello to yummy + unique food!

This post is a mixture of sweets, snacks and entrees.

Macarons, Jolly Holiday on Main Street in Disneyland ~$6

You obviously have to be a macaron fan to love these. Not familiar with macarons? These French-inspired beauties are delicate sandwich-like desserts with a filling in the middle. In my opinion, macarons are sweet, but not too rich.

Jolly Holiday (on the Disneyland side right off of Main Street) always carries macarons. Their resident macaron is the Raspberry Macaron: sweet & tart.

You can also get a seasonal macaron. They have had chocolate, Oreo and vanilla macarons. All so yummy!

The seasonal macarons typically get switched out every 2-3 months.

Be aware, macarons do sell out in the early evening, so plan this treat a little earlier in your day.

Another runner up from Jolly Holiday is their grilled cheese and soup combo. Very simple, but always delicious! Bonus: Mobile Ordering is available at Jolly Holiday!

Corn Dogs, Three Locations $9.29

The classic amusement park treat just got a face lift. I’m not sure what Disneyland puts in the batter, but my gosh. It’s amazing.

You can grab a world famous Disneyland corn dog at three locations: The Little Red Wagon (Disneyland, on Main Street going toward Tomorrowland), Stage Door Cafe (Disneyland, In Frontierland), and Corn Dog Castle (California Adventure, Pixar Pier).

The Red Wagon and Corn Dog Castle dogs come with chips or apples, but if you go to Stagedoor Cafe you can get fries, and they are super fresh and delicious.

Another bonus to Stagedoor is the variety. They also serve fish and chips and chicken nuggets that rock, so your party has options. My husband and I really love the fish and chips here as well!

Mobile Ordering is available at Corn Dog Castle and Stage Door Cafe. It IS NOT available at the Little Red Wagon.

Cream Cheese Filled Pretzel, Disneyland @ Refreshment Corner on Main Street, $5.59

Writing this one is actually making me salivate. While you are waiting for a parade or fireworks, grab a cream cheese filled pretzel. It sounds pretty weird, but just trust me on this one. It’s warm and soft and easy to share with your park buddy.

Not into a sweet pretzel? They also have jalapeño cheese pretzels which are {almost} as delicious.

This is also a great location to get a complimentary cup of water if you are on Main Street. Anywhere that has a soda fountain will give you free cups of water with or without purchase.

Mobile Ordering is available at Refreshment Corner!

Caramel Apple, anywhere that sells candy, ~$14

Excuse the picture, we get these so much, I don’t normally take pics of them, haha.

This is one of my favorite things to take home to the friends and family that didn’t go to Disneyland with me. Apples change with the theme and celebrations of the park, but three stay the same.

There’s always a milk chocolate, caramel and sprinkle apple decorated like a character (Minnie and/or Mickey), an Apple Pie Apple (white chocolate dipped in graham crackers, honestly not my fave), and the special apple of the month (I’ve seen s’mores, Black Forest and peanut butter).

There are five places you can buy caramel apples at the Disneyland Resort. In Disneyland, you can find them at Pooh Corner and Candy Palace. In California Adventure, apples and other yummy sweets can be found at Trolley Treats (by the entrance) and Bing Bong's Sweet Stuff Confectionery (on Pixar Pier). You can also find caramel apples in Downtown Disney at Marceline’s Confectionary.

You cannot mobile order anything from the candy stores unfortunately, but lines go fast!

Mickey Waffles, Carnation Cafe (Disneyland), Storytellers Cafe (Grand Californian), and all Disneyland hotels, Price varies

Mickey waffles are as yummy as they are cute. These cute little waffles are always served warm and fluffy. I don’t know how they make them so magical, but they are the best Belgium waffles ever!

I personally like ordering them from room service at a Disneyland hotel. When you order it there, you can get it with a banana’s foster sauce that is seriously so yummy. Other Disneyland restaurants have had the bananas foster at some point but they don’t always have it, and this is always subject to change.

Chicken and Egg Tamale, Flo’s V8 Cafe in Cars Land at California Adventure $8.99

This is my GO TO place for breakfast at California Adventure. I love tamales and breakfast, so this is a match made in heaven. If you like traditional tamales, you will like this. It is served with eggs and pico de gallo. I personally like it because it’s filling and keeps me full until lunch time.

This is one of the more nutritious breakfast spots I have been to at Disneyland. I love a good Mickey Waffle but they don’t keep me full for very long.

Flo’s offers other American-style breakfast options like eggs + a protein (bacon or sausage), brioche French toast in addition to the tamale. I go for the tamale every time, but everything here is so great!

Tableside Guacamole at Trader Jo’s in Downtown Disney, $14

Downtown Disney has a lot of great food to offer. One of my must-eat foods is tableside guacamole at Tortilla Jo’s. Nothing beats California avocados in my eyes. ;)

This is a higher priced item and is very shareable. At the time I’m writing this, it is around $14, so go with friends and share this Downtown Disney delicacy.

While you’re here, try TJ’s Spicy Chicken Caesar Salad. It’s a must eat.

Tortilla Jo’s is best with a reservation. They do accept walk-ins, but you might have a bit of a wait. They will text you when your table is ready, so you can roam around Downtown Disney.

Mobile Ordering is not available at Tortilla Jo’s!

Monte Cristo Sandwich at Cafe Orleans in Disneyland $22

Okay, my mom had to get me to try this because it sounded a little weird at first…it’s a sliced turkey and ham sandwich with Swiss cheese that is BATTERED and deep fried and sprinkled with powdered sugar. They serve it with a side of jam. It’s really good, but pretty big and rich.

I recommend splitting this because it’s a lot of food, very rich and costs about $22 a plate.

Cafe Orleans is a sit down restaurant which is a nice way to kill time waiting for a Fastpass or a great way to get off your feet.

Note: They do take walk-ins but there is usually a wait. I recommend getting a reservation if you are set on eating here.

Lobster Nachos at Lamplight Lounge in California Adventure, ~$14

If you’re in the mood to sit down and share an appetizer, skip over to Lamplight Lounge on Pixar Pier in California adventure. This is where you will find the famous Lobster Nachos. Exactly like it sounds, this dish is unique to the park.

I personally don’t drink, but I hear this is also a great place to grab a fun drink! I got one of the non-alcoholic drinks here and it was yummy but very small and overpriced (no refills).

Lamplight Lounge is better with a reservation, but they do accept walk-ins on the balcony. Ask a cast member to direct you to the deck for walk-ins.

Mobile Ordering is not available at Lamplight Lounge.

Churros, literally everywhere, ~$4.95

If you know me, or have been to Disneyland with me you know that I love churros. Not to be dramatic, but Disneyland is the place I fell in love with churros. They are always warm, fresh and convenient. I’m not joking when I say you can find them anywhere, just keep your eyes peeled and your smellers open. ;)

Disneyland also has some limited edition churros based on the “celebration” taking place at the time. I personally love the original cinnamon sugar ones, although some of the “special” ones have been really close runner-ups.

Mobile Ordering is not available for churro carts.
