Beachbody 80-Day Obsession Workout Review

Today was DAY 80 for me on my journey with Autumn Calabrese and her cast. Here is my review of the program. This is a Beachbody program and you DO need the subscription. It’s worth it.

I had put on some "happy holiday weight" in December 2017 so I knew I needed to make a change. Around the same time, Autumn Calabrese, creator of 21-Day Fix, started promoting her new 80-Day Obsession program. I wasn't completely sold on this idea, but then I tried the preview workout "A Little Obsessed" and then I was converted. This program was so good to me and here are a few of my thoughts on it:

80 Different Workouts

80-day-obsession

If you are familiar with any sort of video based workout program, you'll feel me on what I'm about to say. When you are doing 80-Day Obsession, you get 80 days of different videos. 80 videos. 80 days of different jokes with the cast, surprise moves and different rep sets. AMAZING. You are doing the exact same program as the cast. When your legs are sore, the cast's legs are the exact same type of sore. It's unreal.

As an athlete, I liked this type of program because I felt like I was part of a team. On my last day, I actually cried because I wouldn’t be working out with the team anymore.

Nutrition

Autumn said that if she were to build this program for a client it would be $2,500, it’s that intensive. Crazy, right? In addition to 80 unique workout videos you get meal custom planners. When you take your first measurements and weight, you are put into a "group" for your goal (maintaining weight, losing weight, or gaining weight).  Meals are planned around the goal for that week. You have handy-dandy portion control containers that help you portion out your food. Certain days you are instructed to "refeed" which boosts your energy for the next day’s workout and other days you will carb cycle. Since the cast is on the same page as you, you will be reminded of these little nuances day-to-day.

So you basically have a trainer and a nutritionist. It's amazing.

New Techniques

This may have been my favorite part of the program. Autumn introduced me to sliders and loops! (You can get these on Amazon for a little big cheaper than Beachbody). I will never workout the same. The sliders are great for ab work and cardio. They turn tired workouts into a party. My husband was SHOCKED at how well these worked. They are basically furniture sliders, but they are wider so you can do some more work. The loops (resistance bands) are amazing for body weight workouts. I didn't know you could double loop these, but you can. They make workouts so much harder and amazing.

Every workout is hyper-focused on common problem areas. Every workout has combo moves which allow you to work more than one target area. You think that you’re just working arms one day, and then boom! Hello core!

Results

I lost a few inches, got a core, slimmed my thighs down and lifted my booty. I feel so much better physically and mentally. This program made me feel strong and aware of what I can do versus what I can't do. So many people had amazing results, not just me. I encourage you to try the FREE test version "A Little Obsessed" to see if you want to jump in.

I believe that you can do it. Turn your assumptions into a thing of the past and don't knock it until you try it. This program was fun and pushed me past my comfort zone. 10/10 WILL DO AGAIN!

Edit: I have completed the program four times now and I still love it and see results.
