The best toothpaste for toddlers and kids

One of the questions I get asked pretty often is what toothpaste I trust for my kids.

Since I’m married to a dentist, people usually assume we have strong opinions… and they’re right. 😂

Before I get into it, a quick disclosure: this post contains affiliate links. That means if you purchase through one of my links, I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. It’s never an extra cost to you, and every little bit helps chip away at our dental school debt. Thank you for supporting our family!

One thing I’ll always recommend is using a fluoride toothpaste. I know there’s a lot of conflicting information online, but fluoride is one of the most studied and effective ways to prevent cavities. The amount used in children’s toothpaste is tiny and safe when used as directed. As someone who gets to hear about teeth all day long, I don’t worry about giving it to my kids.

What really sets Made by Dentists apart, though, is the branding. They somehow made brushing teeth fun. Burton’s favorite is Eyeball Juice with the shark on the tube, and he actually gets excited to brush. He also uses one of their toothbrushes, and we’ve been really happy with it.

If you’re looking for a fluoride toothpaste that your kids will actually be excited to use, this is the one we keep coming back to.
