Perk HydraFacial at Sephora
One day when I was at my home away from home Sephora (the one in Downtown Disney) I was told about the Perk facials they were offering with a $75 purchase. I had Nars foundation and Milk Primer in my basket, so I was close to the quota anyways. Guess I had to get one more thing for the facial, bummer. ;)
Monique, the Sephora skin care consultant, asked me all about my skin care worries and woes (I have combination + acne prone skin). She first cleansed my skin with Blueberry Cleanser from Glow Recipe and gave me a nice little face massage. Then we were onto the treatment.
The Perk HydraFacial is a Sephora exclusive that literally sucks the oil and dirt out of your pores. It is a handpiece that sucks gunk out of your pores and then replaces it with two liquids that are amazing for your skin. It is done in two steps:
The first step exfoliates your skin with lactic acid (a chemical acid). Doing this will loosen some of the dirt on your skin, allowing better things to replace the gunk. I know chemical acids sound scary, but there’s nothing to worry about. It does tingle a bit, but it has about as much pressure as a puppy licking you. ;)
The second step uses a vial of Vitamin C serum that brightens and tones dark spots on your face along with a secondary exfoliator that is hydrating. The tech goes over the entirety of your face, minus the nose for legal reasons (Someone once busted a capillary so they had to stop).
Post facial: Monique finished my facial with the Honeymoon Glow Farmacy Serum (a dupe for Drunk Elephant TLC Framboos), The L’aneige lip mask (FAVORITE EVER) and the Tatcha Water Cream. I was glowing, not in an oily or sweaty kind of way, but a nice fresh way!

Post-facial, Monique showed me the solution that was sucked out of my face…and OH. MY. GOSH. It looks like a mixture of snot, water and oil. You can actually see the oil that came out of your face along with some dead skin cells. Some people might think this was gross, but I LOVED looking at it.
The next morning: I was glowing, my skin looked fresh and even. My makeup went on so smooth and everything blended so easily. I got multiple compliments from friends and family on how good my skin was looking.
Would I do it again? 100%! If I am already buying something at Sephora that is $75 I will be getting one of these, because why not? That is literally one perfume or Drunk Elephant product.
